Sanctuary has won the 2017 People's Monarch title with his hit, 'Pick Me Up'.

Along with the title, he takes home $15,000.

He garnered 70 percent of the votes to defeat fellow grand finalist, Marzville with 'Give It To Ya'.

The results of the vote were announced this afternoon on Starcom Network radio stations.

The People's Monarch, organised by the Starcom Network, is dubbed "the only competition by the people of the people and for the people".

Voting was done via text message and online.

An ecstatic Sanctuary told Loop News, "I am ecstatic. I'm really pleased! I am thankful to all of the people for making me the People's Monarch."

Saying he had no expectations since there were a lot of good artistes in the running, he remarked, "Anybody could have won."

He shared that 'Pick Me Up' has also been getting good traction outside of Barbados and he is looking forward to having a busy work schedule ahead.
