WATCH: Santia adds cancer survivor to her list of titles

A mere three months after the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) fought a hard battle on the political front in the May 2018 General Elections, Member of Parliament for St. Michael South-East, Santia Bradshaw, announced she was fighting a battle of her own - breast cancer.

It has been a gruelling 10 months for Santia but as of June 2019, it appears as though she has emerged unscathed from the darkest part of the forest, now adding cancer survivor to her titles of Minister of Education, lawyer and event promoter.

Bradshaw sat with LOOP COMMUNITY this week to have an open and honest discussion about treatment of the cancer.

She revealed she has completed chemotherapy and has also undergone surgery to remove a lump in her breast. She described the treatment as an "intense form of therapy" which often left her drained.

She returned to work at the Ministry last Friday and going forward she will receive follow-up treatments at a medical facility in Miami.
