UPDATE: Redman's Village shooting victim dies

UPDATE Monday December 30, 2019 

Barbados' latest murder victim is 22-year-old Kirk Bowen. 

The resident of Redman's Village was shot on Sunday night and later succumbed to his injuries while being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). 

Preliminary investigations reveal that around 7.15 pm a group of persons were liming under a shed in Redman's Village, St Thomas. A number of loud explosions were heard and as a result, the deceased, who was passing through the area where the shed is located, collapsed. He was transported to the QEH by ambulance and was later pronounced dead about 11.15 pm.

Police investigations are continuing into this matter. Anyone who may have information related to this incident is asked to contact District D Police Station at 419-1726/1729, Police Emergency 211, Crime Stoppers 1800-8477(TIPS) or any Police Station.

Members of the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) are currently on the scene of a shooting incident in Redman's Village, St Thomas.

Public Relations Officer with the RBPF confirmed a shooting incident occurred in the area around 7.25 pm on Sunday December 29, 2019. 

An adult male was reportedly injured in the shooting and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by ambulance. 

As a result of the shooting, the roadway between the traffic lights at Redman's Village travelling due south toward the Welches roundabout has been temporarily closed to vehicular traffic. 

Motorists are advised to avoid the area. 

Police are yet to release information on the identity and condition of the victim.
