Update [9:07 am]: Man shot during St. Philip robbery
The Royal Barbados Police Force provided the following press release on the robbery:
Police are conducting investigations into a robbery which occurred sometime around 9:10 pm on Monday, January 8 at St. Martin's, St. Philip.
That incident resulted in 22-year-old Chad Wright of Manderly Gardens, St. Philip, being attacked and robbed by three (3) men - two (2) armed with firearms - of a cellular phone and an undisclosed sum of money.
Wright received a gunshot wound to the left leg during the course of the robbery.
Original Post: Police confirm shooting incident [8: 29 am]:
As many persons across Barbados grappled with a power outage last night, word of a shooting in St Philip began to spread.
While police confirmed the shooting, they could not provide further details at this time.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that a young man was shot and robbed in St Martin's, St Philip, however there was no information on the extent of his injury.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
