Silver Hill fire leaves five homeless, scares neighbouring residents

Ten members of the Barbados Fire Service tended the fire which broke out in the Silver Hill Tenantry today, but they were unable to save one home involved.

One house was completely destroyed by the blaze while another was slightly damaged. 

The call was received at the Fire Call Centre at 1:20 pm. The response comprised two water tenders from Bridgetown and was headed by two Station Officers along with eight fire officers. 

According to the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Sargeant Michael Blackman, "The fire at Silver Hill Village in Christ Church occurred about 1: 15 pm on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the residence of Junior Lowe 44 years old, Shanice Am 27 years old, Abdul Am 60 years and two younger children - ages 12 and 8 years old. The fire completely destroyed the residence.
