English pop star Dua Lipa is enjoying a St Lucian vacation amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The Don't Start Now songstress has posted photos of herself and model boyfriend Anwar Hadid, brother of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid, soaking up the sun in safety.
The singer captioned one post "island isolation," showing off an isolated beach the couple appeared to have enjoyed all to themselves.
Prime Minister Allen Chastanet spoke on The Morning Heat on Blazin 99.3 FM earlier today, July 6, 2020, saying that he actually had met the singer and described the process of her coming to St Lucia.
"I got to see her when she first came, amazing lady. When we opened up the country on June 4, we said if you want to come to the country you have to be pre-tested and you have to stay at a specific hotel.
“So she applied, she was pre-tested and luckily for her, she was able to come down on a private plane and she went into a villa at Sugar Beach in isolation,” the PM said.
“All the proper protocols were put in place, she arrived on the property, her temperature was taken, the staff had PPEs, the staff were being tested on a regular basis. There was tremendous amount of social distancing, the time I saw her, she had her mask on and everybody was staying their distances away,” the Prime Minister continued.
"The key thing was for me and I asked her: ‘So why did you come to Saint Lucia?’ She said because Saint Lucia was requiring people to be pre-tested and that seems like the common sense thing to do.
St Lucia recently adjusted travel protocols such that travellers will be required to obtain a negative PCR (Polymerized Chain Reaction) test within seven days of travel unless they are arriving from countries in the Travel Bubble designated by the Government of Saint Lucia.
This travel bubble includes Antigua, Barbuda, Aruba, Anguilla, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Curaçao, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Monsterrat, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Martin, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Martin, Trinidad and Tobago and Turks and Caicos.
