Barbados' newest Double Draw winner, Stephen Odle.

When he went down to Mumus Supermarket in Lammings, St. Joseph, little did Stephen Odle know he would soon be $30,000 richer.

Stephen became the latest Double Draw winner in The Barbados Lottery, winning $30,000 with the Bonus Ball.

The 48-year-old father of three has been playing several lottery games over the years. This time, he bought a Quick Pick for two draws “and hoped for the best,” he said.

Odle confessed that up to that day, he had been quite broke but after going home he watched the draw on television. His numbers came up for the 6:45 p.m. draw.

“I wrote the numbers down and double checked them. Then I looked up in the air and said, ‘Thank You Father!’ said Odle delightedly. “The next day I went to collect my winnings, feeling excited.”

This is not the first time that Odle has been successful with The Barbados Lottery. Previously, he won smaller amounts. He enjoys playing the Super Lotto and Mega 6 games also, but his favourite is the Double Draw.

And he intends to pay some outstanding bills with his winnings.

“You have to play more to win more,” he added. “I would tell players to just try their luck.”

Shelly-Ann Hee Chung, Site Operations Manager of The Barbados Lottery was pleased to have awarded Odle with his cheque for $30,000.

“It is so rewarding when we hear how winning our games can contribute to life-changing opportunities. Congratulations to Mr. Odle on behalf of the Barbados Lottery and a big ‘thank you’ to our valued retailer, Mumus Supermarket,” Hee Chung said.
