Sixth man charged for British national's murder

Another man has been charged in connection with the murder of British national Steven Weare.

Shaquille O’Neal Orlando Cumberbatch's arrest comes nine months after five men appeared on the same murder charge in the District "A" Magistrates' Court, on September 13, 2017.

Cumberbatch, of Westbury Road, St Michael along with the five are accused of committing the capital offence sometime between August 23 and September 1, 2017.

The other accused are Sunil Decourcey Brome, 35, of No.7  Alamanda Drive, West Terrace, St James; Keino Nakito Griffith, 30, of Pounders Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael; Cristopher Darnley Michael Clarke, 26, of Oughterson, St Philip; Torio Akiro Watson, 26, of Block 6D Field Road, Wildey, St Michael; and Basil Alphonso Branch, 27, of Morris Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael. 

Cumberbatch was not required to plead to the capital offence yesterday.

The lifeless body of Weare was found on September 1, 2017, in a remote area in Melverton, St George. Weare, 49, was a British National and formerly resided in Newcastle Plantation House, St.John.

Cumberbatch also faces additional charges including the robbery of a car, aggravated burglary, ammunition possession and unlawful wounding with intent to cause serious bodily harm. Theses offences occurred between April and June this year.
