History was created last night when the International Bashment Soca finals were held at the popular Pirate’s Cove.

When the results were announced by MC, DJ Ras at close to 3:45 this morning, many were not surprised that the former IBS monarch Rickey ‘Lil Rick’ Reid, was no longer sitting atop his throne, having taken the inaugural title last year.

He was second this time around round and took home $15,000, followed closely by his son Unda Dawg, with Ben Over in third. He took away $5,000 for his efforts.

But the big surprise came as newcomer, SK perform Reverse, tied with King Bubba FM’s Ben Ova to capture the top prize of $60,000.

Speaking after coming off stage after collecting his winnings from Culture Minister John King, the artiste who previously told LOOP Entertainment he was coming to turn de beach upside down and take the crown with seats and moving, was full of praise and thanks for his supporters and former King Lil Rick for giving him a chance.
