SOL promises refunds after technical issue at some stations



Sol (Barbados) Ltd. is working to rectify a technical issue at some service stations but assures affected clients that refunds will be issued.

The company issued an urgent press release moments ago informing customers of the software issue being experienced at some service stations in its network, following the midnight price change at the pump.

As of midnight, 12:00 am, Monday, February 18, gas and diesel prices at the pump dropped but it was not reflected at some Sol and Esso service stations across the island.  

The affected sites have been unable to automatically update to reflect the change. Sol’s technical teams are working to resolve the matter as soon as possible. While the matter is being rectified, an alternative system will be used to accurately calculate fuel costs.

The service stations impacted by this technical problem are:

1. Esso Holborn 

2. Esso Mile and a Quarter

3. Esso Tweedside 

4. Esso Culloden

5. Esso Worthing

6. Sol Black Rock

7. Esso Black Rock

8. Esso Paynes Bay

9. Sol Wildey

10. Sol Charles Rowe Bridge

11. Sol Bank Hall

12. Esso Culloden Road* (Editor's Note: This location has been added.)

Sol (Barbados) Ltd. has dispatched of its technical teams and so far the issue has been rectified and pumps are now working correctly at: Esso Holborn, Esso Black Rock, Sol Charles Rowe Bridge and Sol Wildey.

Sol apologised for any inconvenience caused as they continue to work to rectify this issue and ensure that all affected customers are reimbursed for incorrect charges.
