St James man sentenced to two years for drug possession
Jerry Nathaniel Haynes will call Her Majesty’s Prison at Dodds St Philip home for the next two years, after being convicted for several drug-related offences in the Holetown Magistrates’ Court.
The 47-year-old from Halls Village #1, St James had been arrested and charged last month with the offences of Possession of Cannabis, possession with intent to supply, Trafficking and Cultivation of Cannabis.
Lawmen had executed a search warrant at Haynes’ residence and they discovered 243 plants raging in height between a foot and six feet tall, suspected to be of the genus cannabis, a controlled drug under cultivation. A loose quantities of cannabis were also found.
The total weight of the material found was 32.9 kilograms with an estimated street value of BB $131,600.
When he appeared before Magistrate Wanda Blair, Haynes pled guilty and was sentenced to two years in prison on the trafficking charge and was convicted reprimanded and discharged on the possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and cultivation charges.
