Swallow this: 5 health benefits of semen

Semen. What is it good for?

Everything it turns out. Well, not everything but it sure is good for quite a few things. Here are some facts for you to swallow.

1)  It beats depression

A study from the State University of New York showed that women who were directly exposed to semen were less depressed. The researchers think this is because mood-altering hormones in semen are absorbed through the vagina.  Semen is said to contain several mood-altering hormones, including testosterone, oestrogen, follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinising hormone, prolactin and several different prostaglandins. Some of these have been detected in a women’s blood within hours of exposure to semen.

2) Improves taste of food

Sperm contains a variety of properties that makes it a great ingredient in food. According to the site, Her Campus, Natural Harvest – a collection of semen-based recipes, is one of the first cookbooks to explore this and contains a diverse selection of recipes ranging from alcoholic beverages to meat dishes that contain sperm. The ingredient is also praised as improving the quality of taste in many of the recipes and adding a rich, nuanced texture to some. Although, the meals may not be vegan-friendly due to the fact that sperm is an animal protein, the recipes are completely harmless and the semen is low-cal.

3) Good for decreased risk of prostate cancer

The Journal of the American Medical Association has reported that “high ejaculation frequency was related to decreased risk of total prostate cancer.” The method of ejaculation doesn't matter,  intercourse or masturbation is just as effective.

4) Aids in better sleep

According to She Knows, semen contains melatonin which is a chemical that induces sleep and relaxation. Whether you ingest it or receive it through intercourse, it will enter your bloodstream and help you doze off better than most over-the-counter sleep aids.

5) All the vitamins you need

One teaspoon of semen contains over 200 proteins and several helpful vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, calcium, chlorine, citric acid, fructose, lactic acid, magnesium, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, vitamin B12 and zinc.

A word of caution: before having unprotected sex with anyone please make you are both tested.
