Tarrus Riley withdraws from Reggae Sumfest over agreement dispute
Tarrus Riley will not be performing at this year's Reggae Sumfest.
A release from his management team said the international recording artist said he has pulled out of the festival due to failure by the organisers to adhere to an agreement.
"We regrettably announce that Tarrus Riley will not be at Reggae Sumfest 2019, due to failure of the festival honouring their obligations as agreed upon by both parties. We want to make clear that this has NOTHING to do with money, but everything to do with honouring and upholding an agreement, which plays a vital role in elevating Jamaican music and a brand after so many years of hard work.
"This decision is one that we feel is necessary and is in honor of our fans who have supported Singy Singy aka Tarrus Riley over the years. As we all know Tarrus gives 1000 percent, all we ask is for binding parties to reciprocate and keep their end of the deal. This is still our music, our culture and will continue to be our festival. Keep the fire burning and continue to be strong and never stop believing in yourself," the release said.
