Teen falls through plywood into well
A teenage girl, who had to be rescued from a sewage well over the weekend, was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
On Sunday, June 2, 2019, sometime after 4:30 pm, police responded to a report at Collins, St Peter, of a female falling into a well.
Seventeen-year-old Kayla Hurley of Collins, St Peter, reportedly fell into the sewage well at her residence which was covered by a piece of plywood. The police report stated that she was standing on the mentioned plywood when it gave away and she fell approximately 20 feet into the well.
Corey Scantlebury, of the same address, used a ladder and assisted her out of the well.
Personnel from the Barbados Fire Service responded.
Ambulance personnel transported her to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she complained of pain to her neck and upper body.
