Three slapped with a slew of firearm, robbery, assault, drug charges

Three men will appear in court on a number of firearm-related charges, one of which occurred at a St George gas station. 

The accused are 24-year-old Romono Anthony Drayton of Turton Gap, Government Hill St Michael, Rico Radarrah Reneal Forde of Salters St George and 19-year-old Jakran Ta’Shawn Shamar Griffith of Alleynes Land, Bush Hall St Michael.

Griffith is charged with three offences which took place on February 7, 2020: possession of a .38 revolver without a license, possession of five rounds of ammunition without a permit and assaulting a Police Sergeant during the execution of his duties.

Forde is charged with unlawfully possessing one .9mm Smith and Wesson pitol and possession of nine rounds of ammunition without a permit on February 7, 2020.

He is also charged in connection with the shooting incident which occurred at the Sol Service Station in Charles Rowe Bridge on January 26, 2020. He is accused of recklessly or without lawful authority or excuse, discharging a firearm in a public place in a manner which placed Jianne Douglas in danger of death or serious bodily harm and causing serious bodily harm to Shaquille Callender with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him on the same date.

Forde and Drayton are jointly charged with being in possession of a firearm while in Government Hill, St Michael on January 4, 2020 and discharging the firearm in a public place in a manner that placed Rashad Massiah in danger of death and serious bodily harm.

Drayton is also charged with robbing three people on June 1, 2018, one of which was a police officer and robbing a man of a motorcycle on December 28, 2018.

He is also charged with assaulting Romario Greene on August 27, 2018. From an incident occurring on July 7, 2019 he is charged with causing serious bodily harm to Shaquille Callender and, on the same day, unlawfully possessing a firearm without a license. A drug related offense is also included on Drayton’s charge sheet where it is alleged he had cannabis in possession.

The three men will appear in the District A Magistrate Court today, Thursday February 13, 2020.
