TicketLinkz: Rise Again Bahamas campaign raises USD $30K online

A staggering USD $30,000 was raised for The Bahamas online via the Rise Again Barbados website.

Using their credit cards or Visa debits, big-hearted persons submitted financial pledges to aid in the hurricane relief efforts underway for the victims of Hurricane Dorian on Grand Bahama and Abaco Islands.

Chief Executive Officer of TicketLinkz, Ryan Brathwaite told Loop News that as of tonight, Tuesday, September 10, 2019, online they had collected BBD $60,000 or USD $30,000 from over 300 donations.

That is USD $2,000 MORE than was raised yesterday. The majority of the funds were raised during the National Mediathon on Sunday, September 8, 2019.

Having offered their services to help the government put together the Mediathon at short notice, Brathwaite said: "Ticketlinkz came on board to assist because of a natural social responsibility to provide assistance and expertise to help those who are in need. We are not strangers to these type of things and we continue to utilise our charitable arm to raise funds for worthy causes."

With a quick turnaround necessary, he explained: "Ticketlinkz along with Techbase solutions conceptualised the official Rise Again Bahamas logo and provided the framework for online payment processing on www.riseagainbahamas.com, which was also developed in partnership with and donated by Techbase Solutions.

"We also supported the initiative by facilitating the call-in credit card and debit card pledges, of which our personnel volunteered."

Most of the financial pledges online came from Barbados, but a substantial amount came from the United States as well. Pledges were also received from the United Kingdom, Canada, Bermuda, Grenada, Italy, Jamaica, Turks & Caicos.

The link remains live tomorrow, Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
