Traffic Alert: Fallen utility pole blocks St Lucy road

Persons travelling in and around some parts of St Lucy can expect some delays this morning and if possible plan their route accordingly.

This as a fallen utility pole in the area of Allendale, St Lucy has made that road impassable.

Word of this comes from Acting Public Relations Officer with the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF), Sergeant Michael Blackman. He confirmed that drivers should use an alternative route as the road is currently blocked to motorists:

"The public is informed of fallen utility poles at Allendale, St Lucy. The relevant persons have been notified. The road as reported to police is currently impassable."

Motorists should therefore avoid the area and plan their route accordingly.

Sergeant Seibert Johnson gave motorists some advice as to how they could navigate the situation:

"If you are coming from St Lucy's Church, you must continue through Bentham's and continue on your journey.

"If you're coming from Mile and a Quarter, you must take the route of Maynards, down through Six Men's, through Colleton and continue on your journey."
