A utility pole has fallen and caused police to close off Two Mile Hill.

The downed pole and wires are in the vicinity of Ilaro Court. Police have closed off Two Mile Hill from the J.T.C. Ramsay roundabout to the junction with the Howell's X Road.

Police spokesman Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss told the media in a statement:

"Plese be informed that there is a utility pole and electrical wires across the roadway in the area of Ilaro Court. This was caused by a container truck travelling along the roadway. No injuries are reported but it has made the road impassable at this time. Barbados Light & Power personnel are trying to rectify the situation.

"All motorists are asked to avoid the area as we anticipate considerable congestion in this general area."

Traffic is building along the ABC Highway on Pine Hill and from Salters to the Norman Niles roundabout.
