Traffic diversions, emergency work to fix South Coast burst main

Customers along the South Coast can expect some disruption to their water service today as the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) seeks to repair a burst main.

Residents and businesses in the Hastings, Christ Church area are being warned that BWA crew members will conduct emergency work today to repair the main in that area.

As a result, customers in Hastings and surrounding districts may experience low pressure or water outage until the problem has been rectified.

BWA promises that water tankers will be dispatched to assist in the affected areas. Motorists are also cautioned to expect and follow the directions and instructions of the traffic wardens who will be deployed to assist drivers with the diversions during the period of emergency work.

The notice was issued by the BWA on their social media about one hour ago.
