UPDATE: Trio arrested in relation to $633,000 in drugs

UPDATE [3:30 p.m.]:

The three have been remanded until Thursday, November 16, when they appeared in court earlier today.

Members of the Drug Squad have arrested and jointly charged the two Barbadian women, and a Guyanese man, in connection with a number of drug-related offences, committed between November 7-10, 2017.

It is reported the offences were committed whilst at West Terrace Heights, St James, and Mason Hall Street St. Michael, respectively.

 They are:

1) Betty Alicia Griffith–Payne, 38 years of West Terrace Heights, St James

2) Marie Alexa Griffith, 35 years of Cleavers Hill, St Joseph

3) Guyanese national, Kwanza Ezra Canterbury, 34 years.

The trio is jointly charged for Unlawful Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Supply, Trafficking Cocaine, and Conspiracy to Traffic Cocaine

 The two women also face an additional charge of Handling Cocaine, while Canterbury faces additional charges of Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Trafficking Cannabis.

Total weight of the Cocaine is 12.5 kilos valued $625,000.00

The weight of the Cannabis is 1 kilo valued $8,000.00

The trio is expected to appear in court today, Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
