Friday, March 23, 2018, Stacey Terrence Richards, 41 years of Kingsland Gardens North, Christ Church; Grantley Dolar Babb, 61 years of Lower Burney, St. Michael and Lordon Emmanuel Marlon Charles, 29 years of Powder Road, Station Hill, St. Michael were jointly charged with the following Offences:
1. Possession of Cannabis
2. Trafficking of Cannabis
3. Intent to supply Cannabis
4. Importation of Cannabis
5. Possession of Cocaine
6. Trafficking of Cocaine
7. Intent to supply Cocaine
8. Importation of Cocaine
Five charges jointly for the offence of Possession of a Firearm without a valid licence
Five charges jointly for the offence of Importation of a Firearm without a licence
One joint charge each for Possession of Ammunition without a valid permit and the Importation of Ammunition without a valid licence, for a total of 20 charges.
Police reported that on Tuesday, March 19, 2018, personnel from the Drug Squad, Anti-gun & Gangs Unit and the Barbados Coast Guard conducted a joint operation. The Barbados Coast Guard personnel intercepted a boat, “Sail Away” X 460 off the coast of Brandon’s Beach, St. Michael with three men onboard.
The three crew members along with the vessel were taken into custody by the Coast Guard personnel. A comprehensive search of the vessel was conducted and five firearms, ammunition, cocaine and cannabis were found in false compartments within the said vessel.
The weight of the Cocaine is 6.5 kgs with an estimated street value of three hundred and twenty-five thousand (BBD $325,000.00) Barbados Dollars.
The weight of the Cannabis is 232.4 kgs with an estimated street value of nine hundred and twenty-nine thousand, six hundred (BBD $929,600.00) Barbados Dollars
The accused appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today Saturday, March 24, 2018 and were remanded until April 20, 2018.
