Weather authorities have upgraded Tropical Depression 11 to Tropical Storm status with the Barbados Meteorological Services monitoring closely the progress of Tropical Storm Josephine.

At 11 am TS Josephine was centered near 13.7 N 49.2 W or about 706 miles or 1137 kilometers to the east of Barbados.

With maximum sustained winds now near 45 MPH (75 KM/H) and the estimated minimum central pressure is 1005mb.

At its present movement, Josephine is forecast to continue on a west-northwestward track over the next several days. On its current forecast track, the system should pass well north of Barbados on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

At current no watches or warnings have been issued for the Caribbean for TS Josephine.

It is the tenth named storm of the Atlantic 2020 hurricane season.  

The US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) in its 11 am advisory said the storm was located about 975 miles east south east of the northern leeward islands with maximum sustained winds of 45 miles per hour.
