Trinidad and Tobago will host the entire Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 Tournament.
The Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Sports made the announcement via a press release on Thursday (July 9).
"At today’s meeting, the Cabinet agreed to the hosting of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 Tournament in Trinidad over the period August 18, 2020, to September 12, 2020, with strict adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines."
The Ministry added that Trinidad and Tobago was considered to be the preferred option for the new format of the tournament, which will be played over a 25-day period.
Organisers were monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact in the region from March before making any hasty decisions.
