Two kings and a queen crowned in 2019 Junior Monarch competition

The Mighty Bit Bit took away the Junior Monarch title in the 6 to 10 category.

For the first time in the history of the Junior Calypso Monarch competition, 19 contestants battled it out to see who would wear the crown in one of the three categories up for grabs – the 6 to 10, 11 to 14 and 15 to 18 category.

Close to 1 a.m. on Sunday morning, when the result were read out on stage at the Wildey Gymnasium, Quon went home with a smile on his face, having successfully defended the title he first won last year.

Performing the Water Street Boys penned composition, Smart, he beat De Overcomer’s Last and Yahandje who was third, singing My Reality.

In the 11 to 14 age group, it was Queen Shontae asking to Stop De Violence that copped her the crown.  Xavi who sung Reduce, Reuse, Recycle was second and Mhizz Khibaba and Her Story, third.

The Mighty Bit Bit with his De Style Of Old Calypso, took top honours in the new 6 to 10 category, while Dee Jay singing My Time was second and Riyah B’s Indiscipline was third.
