Two remanded on gun and ammo charges
Police have arrested and charged two young men in separate cases of unlawful possession of guns and ammunition.
They are Pierre Dacarlo Small, 26 years, of Gall Hill, Christ Church, and Zariq Amir Pierre Grant, 18 years, of Hillaby, St. Thomas. Grant is also being charged with unlawful possession of cannabis.
Police said they conducted an operation on Wednesday, September 13 at the business place known as Wanayah’s Wholesale at #33 Warrens Industrial Estate, Warrens, St Michael, where a promotional event was being held.
During this operation, Small was searched and police found a firearm and ammunition.
He appeared before Acting Magistrate Sandra Rawlins in the District ‘A’ Traffic Court on Friday, September 15. He was remanded to prison to reappear in court on October 13, 2017.
Meanwhile, Grant was arrested on Monday, September 11, 2017, after police executed a search warrant at the residence occupied by Grant and discovered a firearm, ammunition, and cannabis.
He appeared before Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District ‘D’ Magistrates on Thursday, September 14 and was remanded to prison to reappear in court on October 11, 2017.
