Underage teen in police custody for fatal St. Michael stabbing

Police are carrying out investigations into the circumstances which led to the death of Jabar Lashley.

The 29-year-old of Bibby's Lane, St. Michael, was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by ambulance yesterday, Monday, January 28, 2019, after being stabbed.

Today, police disclosed that he succumbed to his injuries last night around 10:49 pm.

Speaking to the stabbing incident, the Police spokesperson Sargeant Michael Blackman said that Lashley was involved in an altercation with a young boy who is under the age of 16 years old, at a bar in Britton's Hill, St. Michael.

Currently the juvenile male is in custody assisting with police investigations.

Persons who may have witnessed the stabbing incident or have information about the incident are asked to contact the Royal Barbados Police Force at the emergency hotline 211, or call 430-7612 for Hastings station or 1-800-TIPS for Crime Stoppers.

The name of the victim was released as soon as the family was officially informed of his passing.
