UPDATE: Orange Hill shooting victim hospitalized

The victim has been identified.

He is 33-year-old Akeel Turton. 

He was shot in his Orange Hill home and he is currently hospitalized.


Man shot in Orange Hill

Police have a man in custody in relation to an early morning shooting in St James.

Public Relations Officer Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss told the media that police are carrying out investigations into a shooting incident which was reported about 7.30 am, today, Saturday (April 4). 

It was reported that a male in his 30s was shot by another adult male. The injuries and status of the victim are unknown at this time as he was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical attention by private motorcar.

The incident occurred at a residence in Orange Hill St. James.

Inniss said that a man is currently in custody assisting with this matter.

Police investigations are ongoing.
