UPDATE: Remand for ATM theft accused

Days after police issued bulletins showing suspected assailants in an ATM skimming attack, an Argentine man appeared in a Bridgetown court charged with theft.

 

Thirty-three-year-old Joaquin Alberto Lobo of Caseros Buenos Aires, Argentina is charged that between July 6 and 7, he stole $3 040 in Barbados currency belonging to Barbados Public Workers Cooperative Credit Union Limited.

In addition, he is accused that between July 5 and 8 he stole $79, 770 in Barbados currency belonging to CIBC First Caribbean International Bank (Barbados) Limited.

It is said Logo came to the island on July 3. 

Though an application was made for bail by Lawyer Andrew Pilgrim, the magistrate sided with the prosecution and remanded Logo until August 14.

The matter was heard in the District A Magistrates Court before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy Sargeant.
