V'ghn caps successful year with five-track EP
Grenada’s King of Groovy Soca, V’ghn, will release his first album today.
The EP, XoniQ, caps a fruitful year for V'ghn who placed third in the Groovy Soca Monarch competition in Trinidad and Tobago in only his first year and toured places such as Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Turks and Caicos, Geneva Switzerland, Oslo Norway, Dubai and Amsterdam.
The five-track EP will showcase the artist’s versatility, highlighting his love for Afrobeats, Afrofusion, R&B, Pop and tropical dancehall.
"We all have the ability to push our mental boundaries, like a child learning to crawl, then walk, then run, it is embedded within us naturally to learn, then advance. As we get older we then choose what we want to become more knowledgeable about. X meaning unlimited “X on IQ” or XonIQ In my definition represents my hunger to increase my own knowledge. This EP is an early preview to my first official album set to release April 2020. It features five tracks I wrote that represents different moods of my unique personality," V'ghn said of his album.
The EP is a prelude to V'ghn's full-length album set for an April 2020 release.
V’ghn, who enjoyed a break out year in 2019 with his hit Trouble in the Morning, has a thirst to be among the great creators of Caribbean music sharing in the musical credit for a number of the region’s popular entertainers, among them Konshens and Christopher Martin this year alone.
