Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton may get many people into the Christmas mood, but for some Bajans it’s not Christmas until they hear certain local ‘carols’.

This may be oldies, but they are still goodies.

Here are six Bajan Christmas songs that bring the Christmas spirit and flavour to some Barbadians, whether at home or abroad.

1. Beat he or wuh? – De Original Duck

On Facebook one person questioned if this is the only time of year that this artiste gets his airplay.

2. She mistake me for Santa Claus – Eric Lewis

With side chicks and outside women being a big deal nowadays, this song has gotten fresh legs.

3. Getting nuttin fuh Christmas – Pong

NSRL has hit many pockets, so as many people try to cut and contrive this year, whether you were naughty or nice you may get nothing for Christmas 2017.

4. Christmas Road March – MADD

In these harsh economic times, a guy would be happy to hear his significant other say 'Just use your talent and make me a gift instead of spending money honey.'

5. Maizie – Red Plastic Bag (RPB)

BWIA no longer flies and neither would this excuse, so don’t try pulling a Maizie.

6. Hurray Hurrah (For unto us a child is born) - Singing Francine

Because she sings parang many give her over to T&T but she is to call Barbados home. La la la la la la Ayeeee!
