The tradition of excellence continued at the Music Night of the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) on Wednesday night.
The Frank Collymore Hall came alive when the performers lent their voices and instruments to showcase the best of Barbadian talent.
The 2019 showcase from the adults included drumming, steel pan as well as singing in various genres including soca, kaiso, gospel and pop.
Award-winning Israel Lovell Foundation delivered a heart-warming, foot-shaking, finger-snapping tribute to El Verno Del Congo.
Vocalists Drayann Cadogan-Regan and Ki’ann Browne were stand-out performers on the night. Both lasses effortlessly displayed their vocal range, Drayann with Adele’s hit single, 'Set Fire to the Rain' and Ki’ann stirred the audience to their feet with ‘I Know Where I’ve Been’.
The female quartet, FuZion, took the audience on a trip down memory lane with Bajan folk classics like ‘John Belly Mama’ and ‘Pack She Back to She Ma’.
The NIFCA Finals continues at the Frank Collymore Hall on Thursday, November 28 with the Dance Finals and on Friday November 27 with the Theatre Finals. Shows start at 7 pm.
