VIDEO: 'Rise Again Bahamas' telethon kicks off today
Barbadians are being asked to give generously to the 'Rise Again Bahamas' telethon.
The national telethon will take place today, September 8 from 3 pm to 10 pm to raise funds for relief and rebuilding efforts in the Bahamas. The islands were severely impacted by Hurricane Dorian last week with many dead and thousands left homeless.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley announced government will match whatever monies citizens pledge during the telethon. Donations can be made to CDEMA Bahamas/Barbados Relief Fund at any branch of First Caribbean International Bank. The account number is 1001186684.
Cash payments can be made at the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), The Pine, St. Michael or at the call centre (246) 228-6288 during the telethon only.
