Government intends to pay more attention to the issue of ’sick buildings’ in the future.

Word of this came from Minister of Labour, Colin Jordan as he and members of the Labour Department conducted a tour of Bridgetown stores on Friday.

The Minister told reporters the Department has been struggling with a lack of manpower but the Ministry intends to make a strong case during the Estimates debates for increased funding and staff to deal with environmental issues affecting government buildings.

Over the last two years a number of government departments have been temporarily closed and or relocated due issues such as mould, dust and inadequate ventilation.
