VIDEO: Three fires in 2 parishes in less than one hour

Eleven fire officials from three fire stations are out battling blazes tonight.

Three officials and one water tender from Bridgetown Fire Service have responded to a grass fire along Maxwell Hill, Christ Church, after the lone appliance at Worthing had only minutes earlier departed the station to head further East to Heddings, St. Philip, where another fire is eating up grass in a residential area.

A stone throw away from the Heddings Fire, is a quickly spreading blaze along Kirtons Main Road, heading towards Rices, St. Philip. The patch on fire is surrounded by homes and the constituency office for the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Candidate for St. Philip South, Indar Weir. The St. John Fire station has responded to this grass fire with four officials and one water tender.

Bridgetown Fire Station received the call for the Heddings fire at 8:50 pm, Kirtons at 9:28 pm and Maxwell Hill at 9:30 pm.
