Visitor pronounced dead at QEH

A day of snorkelling while on vacation had a tragic ending today for the family and friends of one Canadian visitor on island in Barbados.

Police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of the 66-year-old visitor.

Sometime around 12:20 pm, today, Friday, February 9, 2018, whilst at Browne’s Beach, Bay Street, St. Michael, the deceased and his wife were snorkelling, when he complained of feeling unwell.  He was later observed experiencing difficulties in the water and was pulled ashore by the lifeguard on duty.

The visitor was subsequently transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead.
