WATCH: Holness talks strengthening Jamaica-Africa connections

Prime Minister Andrew Holness on Tuesday launched Jamaica's commemoration of the United Nations-declared International Decade for people of African descent, at the Independence Grand Gala inside the National Stadium in Kingston.

After announcing the launch, Holness and his guest, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, took time out from enjoying the spectacle of the Grand Gala to have a small chat with the Loop News team. 

Kenyatta expressed his love for Jamaica and how enjoyable his visit has been, while explaining that the possibilities for cultural and economic exchange between both countries are huge. Holness meanwhile elaborated on the International Decade for people of African descent initiative and the possible positive impact it may have on the island. See video below:
