The teenager accused of murdering Emelien Malcolm Peters was today remanded to prison.

He is Joshua Shakeem Alexander, 17 years of Well Gap, St Michael.


Alexander appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargent in the District "A" Magistrates Court today, July 12, 2019. He was not required to plead in the matter.

Peter, 28, of No. 59 Meadowvale, Prior Park St James was shot dead in Well Gap on June 16. He was the youngest of four siblings. Peter's funeral was last week Friday, July 5, 2019, at the Roman Catholic Church on Jemmotts Lane.

Alexander was remanded until August 9.
