We Gatherin' activities to hit St Lucy on January 1

St Lucy is gearing up to jump start the highly anticipated We Gatherin’ 2020 celebrations whenthe new year turns. The parish at the helm of the island will spearhead the festivities with a massive picnic and concert on New Year’s Day at River Bay, St. Lucy.

‘Gather at de Bay’ will be the first official activity on the We Gatherin’ 2020 roster. The event will commence at 11 am and is expected to run until 5.30 pm. Apart from inviting persons down to simply enjoy the popular beach-side spot for an ‘ole-time’ picnic there is an entertainment package which will feature a concert by some of the island’s top artistes.


Sister Marshall will headline the gospel segment while Soca Queen Alison Hinds will feature prominently during the sundown component. Expected to join her are performers Adrian Clarke, Rupee, Peter Ram, Lady Essence, Ishiaka McNeil as well as Leadpipe and Saddis.

Adopting the acronym FAITH, the St Lucy planning committee will focus on Families, Achievements, Institutions, Talent and Heritage. There are a host of month-long activities which will incorporate fun, food and fellowship among families. The festivities planned for the month of January include an Ecumenical service, heritage tours, cook-outs, sporting tournaments, karaoke limes, gospel and kaiso concerts as well as educational activities.
