Weather Report: Tropical Storm Isaac still expected to affect Barbados

Here is a look at the weather in Barbados for September 13, according to information from the Barbados Meteorological Services. 

Today should be partly cloudy to cloudy with some pockets of light to moderate showers and possible isolated thunderstorms, while tonight is forecasted to be partly cloudy to cloudy with some scattered light to moderate showers and possible isolated thunderstorms. This as Tropical Storm Isaac continues to weaken.

The Met Office gave this update on the storm:

"At 5:00 a.m, T.S Isaac was located near 15.4N 59.7W or about 159 miles (256 km) north of Barbados. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 45 mph or 75 km/h. Storm force winds extend 160 miles (260 km) to the north of the center.

"Isaac continues to move westward at 17 mph or 28 km/h The center of this system is currently passing to the north of Barbados. Some pockets of light to moderate showers and isolated thunderstorms with accompanying occasional gusty winds are likely later today with rainfall accumulations of one (1) to two (2) inches. Sea conditions have already deteriorated and are expected to continue into tonight with swells expected to peak near 3.5m in open water.

"A Small-Craft Warning and a High-Surf Advisory will remain in effect until 6:00 a.m Friday, 14th September, 2018. A small-craft Warning means in this case that surface winds greater than or equal to 25 knots and seas equal to or greater than 3m (10ft) are already affecting or expected to affect the marine area. A High-Surf Advisory is issued when breaking wave action poses or is expected to pose a threat to life and property within the surf zone."

The current temperature is 27.5 °C and winds are variable at first becoming south-southwest to the south-southeast at 20 to 40km/h, with higher gusts likely near showers. Seas are moderate to rough in open water with swells from 2.0m to 3.5m. A small craft warning and high surf advisory will remain in effect.
