Widespread water outages expected with shutdown of pumping station

The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) wishes to advise the public that there will be a shutdown of the Belle Pumping Station on Friday, November 9 between the hours of 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm to facilitate the replacement of a well pump. 

As a consequence, customers in parts of St. Michael and Christ Church may be impacted by low pressure or water outage.

There areas may include: Mount Friendship, Tichbourne, Howells Cross Road, Belmont, Mapp Hill, Fort George, Belleville, Carrington Village, Chapel Gap, Waterford, Bush Hall, Spooner’s Hill, White Hall, Grazettes, Black Rock, Cave Hill, Codrington, Paradise Heights, Halls Road, Martindale Road, Constitution Road, Bay View, Brittons Hill and surrounding districts in St. Michael, Hastings, Rendezvous, Amity Lodge, Marine Gardens, Navy Gardens, Worthing, Graeme Hall, Top Rock, Maxwell, Deal Gardens, Fairholme Gardens, Oistins, Keizer Hill, Scarborough, Thornbury Hill, Enterprise and surrounding districts in Christ Church.  

As a precautionary measure, residents are asked to store an adequate supply of water for the duration of the shutdown. Water tankers will also be dispatched to assist in the affected areas.  

The BWA apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
