Private sector association ready to talk business

President of the BPSA, Charles Herbert, said the association’s view of the country’s financial position is one of the priority topics for the meeting. He also said the BPSA will be sharing recommendations as to what should be done to remedy the country’s fiscal challenges.

Cleviston Haynes to act as new Governor at Central Bank of Barbados

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs today advised that Dr. DeLisle Worrell has been relieved of his duties as Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados.

This is consequent upon the termination of his instrument of appointment by Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Christopher Sinckler.

Central Bank Governor gets to stay

That was the decision handed down by Justice Randall Worrell just moments ago.

In an interesting turn of events, the Central Bank Governor, Dr. Delisle Worrell was dangerously close to being ousted when Justice Worrell earlier today discharged the injunction he had initially put in place barring Finance Minister Chris Sinckler from firing the Governor.

Attorney-at-law Gregory Nicholls moved with haste this afternoon to have the matter filed in the Court of Appeal shortly after the notice of discharge was given.
