When you become a mother, there is nothing that can prepare you for what's to come, especially on how to raise your babies.

Loop asked a few Christian mothers what are some tips they have on how to raise a Christian child.

1. It takes a lot of self-reflection - “If you want your child to show the behaviours of a Christian, then you as the parent should display those same behaviours. Sometimes, we as parents forget that children observe our every move which means that we should be careful of what we do around them.”

2. Teach them lifelong principles using the Bible - “The Bible is full of stories which have underlying principles that children can learn from. It makes the Bible more relatable to children when they see that these stories can be compared to what’s happening in their lives now.”

3. Pray for your children constantly - “Every day you see the evils of the world and sometimes all you can do is to pray that your children will be safe. You not only pray that they will be safe, but you pray that they will continue to keep the values you have instilled in them as they become older.”

4. Pray with your children - “Don’t just pray for your children, but it’s also important to pray with them. Praying with your children builds a bond with them that is essential. They share their connection with God with you.

5. Simply be a source of encouragement - “Some parents make the mistake of pushing the Bible too hard down their children’s throats and forget that God is a loving God over everything else. Let your children know that they are loved despite the mistakes they will make in life.”
