American R&B singer Ashanti is no stranger to the Caribbean and judging from her Instagram posts, seemed to have had the time of her life during her most recent trip to Antigua and Barbuda.
Ashanti was in Barbados for Crop Over 2019 where she performed at Soca Universe Barbados alongside Trini soca artiste Machel Montano.
The Grammy-winning artiste turned 40 on October 13 and chose to celebrate the milestone while enjoying the sun, sea and sand in the two-island state.
Like a true celebrity, she commemorated the milestone in fine style with relatives and some of her closest friends.
Rapper Flo Rida was among those who journeyed to Antigua for Ashanti's birthday festivities.
The group stayed at the Hodges Bay Resort.
According to owner Jeff Wellemeyer, since news of Ashanti's stay was made public, three other celebrities have also announced plans to travel to Antigua and Barbuda and have made arrangements to stay at Hodges Bay.
Wellemeyer said the celebrated recording artiste recorded scenes for an upcoming music video during her recent vacation in Antigua.
