The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Barbados has increased by two today.

Two people tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday (May 18) out of a total of 163 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The results were returned today (May 19).

They are a 58-year-old Barbadian woman, who arrived in the island yesterday and whose case is under investigation, and a 42-year-old crew member of one of the cruise ships off Barbados, who was transferred from the ship for emergency medical treatment.

No one was released from isolation today.

There are now 90 confirmed cases of COVID-19 comprising 47 females and 43 males. Fifteen people are in isolation, and 68 others have recovered. Seven people have died as a result of COVID-19.

Up to yesterday, 4,167 tests had been completed by the public health laboratory.
