BWA Stations pumping back online after overnight power outages
Created : 2 May 2019
The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is advising the public that last night Wednesday, May 1, it again suffered power outages at its stations at Bowmanston, Golden Ridge, Sweet Vale, Applewhaites, Greens and Ellerton.
In a press statement issued today, Thursday, May 2, the BWA said:
'The stoppages impacted residents fed from these systems including some St. Joseph districts which have recently once again been severely challenged.
'The Authority has restarted all of the stations and put them back into operation, however, it will take some time for the water to fully recharge.
'As usual, BWA crews will assist any customers suffering outages via water tanker as temporary measure.'
The public is reminded that citizens experiencing challenges can call representatives of the Authority at 434-4292 to notify them of any outage or problem being experienced. Persons are available to take calls everyday, including Bank Holidays, between 8:30 am and 12 midnight.
The BWA apologised sincerely to its valued customers for the disruption in service.
