Cayman: 533 negative COVID-19 cases today
The Cayman Islands has a number of reasons to celebrate today (June 25).
Not only have the 533 COVID-19 tests carried out in the last 24 hours yielded no positive results, but there are currently only 22 active cases, which means that 94 per cent of the 196 people that have tested positive to date have fully recovered.
There are also no symptomatic cases on-island.
Cayman has tested 22,266 people to date, more than a third of its population and is experiencing a rapidly diminishing positive testing rate, which currently stands at 0.88 per cent.
Since Monday, 1,896 COVID-19 tests have been returned, with only one positive result, which was received on Wednesday (June 24).
Since its first case of coronavirus, Cayman has only had one death, a foreign patient who was removed from a cruise ship due to a cardiac episode.
Cayman is being recognized by much of the world as a coronavirus "success story".
