COVID-19 Update: One new case, two recoveries
A 25-year-old woman is Barbados' lastest COVID-19 case.
Out of 171 tests performed by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory yesterday, the Barbadian national who is asymptomatic tested positive.
She arrived at the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) on August 17. The female travelled to Barbados from the United States via Jamaica, arriving on a Caribbean Airlines flight.
She was in quarantine before her positive retest on Friday and is currently in isolation at the Harrison Point, St Lucy facility.
Her diagnosis has taken the number of confirmed cases to 158, comprising 83 females and 75 males.
Meanwhile, two people were allowed to leave isolation today after a second consecutive negative test. There are 25 persons in isolation and 126 people have recovered.
Up to yesterday, the public health laboratory completed 15,503 tests.
