On Wednesday, 11 tests were conducted. The results were not ready when Thursday's afternoon emergency press conference was hosted. Amongst those tested were the husband and the two children of the first Barbadian woman who tested positive on March 17. She was one of the first two confirmed cases in Barbados.
Yesterday, Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Anton Best disclosed that another 10 to 15 tests were also done on that day.
So far, Barbados' tally stands at four confirmed imported cases on the island and one confirmed case off-island aboard a cruise vessel. The government has so far taken the decision to withhold the name of the vessel which homeports in Barbados.
As of 3 pm on Friday, March 20, 2020, Barbados remained at Stage 1 in its management and response to the COVID-19 pandemic locally.
