Ellerton blow lead again in BFA Coca-Cola Premier League

Scotty’s Car Rental St Andrew Lions and Crane & Equipment Ellerton FC continue to search for their first victory of the 2020 Coca-Cola Barbados Football Association (BFA) Premier League.

Both teams shared a similar record of three draws and one defeat coming into their encounter last Saturday evening at the BFA Wildey Turf and as fortune would have it, they shared their points at the end, each settling for a 2-2 draw.

Ellerton are making it common place to throw away leads.  Earlier in the week, the St George representatives blew a two goal lead, twice, in their 3-3 draw with the University of the West Indies (UWI) Blackbirds.

St Andrew has produced the other side of the coin and have come from behind in their last two matches to salvage a point.

Shaquan Clarke scored his fourth goal of the season to give Ellerton a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute.

Ellerton scored the game’s second goal but in the wrong goal as defender Tyrique Holder turned the ball into his net in the 57th minute.

Talisman and sharp shooter Shakille Belle gave Ellerton the lead for the second time when he converted in the 81st minute.

When a victory seemed imminent, Ellerton went to sleep and Lions’ midfielder Shakir Skeete levelled the score in the 93rd minute.

Leaving the Ellerton technical team and fans in disbelief.
