Flash-flood, Thunderstorm watches discontinued
The Barbados Met Office is discontinuing two weather advisories.
A flash-flood watch was in effect in for Barbados from this morning (June 20) at 6.10 am.
Originally it was to end at midday or sooner if conditions warrant, and hence it has been terminated just about 11 am.
Heavy showers occurred this morning.
A flash-flood watch means that flooding due to heavy or excessive rainfall during a short period of time could result in flash flooding within the watch area.
The severe thunderstorm watch that was also in effect from 6.10 am to be terminated at noon has also been terminated.
This morning, a tropical wave is affecting the island and the forecast is mostly cloudy with occasional brief moderate to heavy showers and a very high chance of scattered thunderstorms, however, improving conditions are expected during the afternoon.
Lightning activity is associated with the passage of a tropical wave. The wave's axis was along 63W.
